About Lady May

My name is Kayleigh May! I started this little side business from a cricut almost three years ago on facebook marketplace. I grabbed it up & let it sit in the garage for about two months. Then I finally decided one day to take it out of
the box to try it out.

I never have been the “crafty type” & when I would attempt a project, it would end up a total mess, the area and the project itself !

After starting to get a hang of things, creating orders to close friends, I started with a goal in making enough money to cover daycare for our now three year old “Rainbow Baby,” Rowan James. I worked full time as a dialysis technician & would complete orders when my baby would sleep. I decided to find something else to make my products to stand out, which is where I picked up on learning how to tie dye. I recently picked up on resin & found a new love when my mother passed away August 2023. It became a healthy coping skill for me while grieving the loss of my mother. While my little business has grown, the help of my husband, Lloyd, was needed & he has jumped in to learn!

We started vending Fall 2023 with great success of sales and most importantly, networking! A lot has changed with our small business, so we rebranded June 2024 when designing became a small part of this business, and the tie-dyeing picked up!  Also in June, I made my way up to Chicago for Screenprint training!

We then opened our storefront July 4th, 2024 when the opportunity came! 327 Busseron Street in Vincennes, IN is our location!

I think the best advice I can give for someone like me that has struggled to be artistic and have the desire, is keep trying! I found a new love of crafting in my early 30’s with several disaster attempts over the years. I also love helping others learn, even if they do become “competition.” To me, it’s best to help others to find a passion, healthy coping skills, & extra income to provide for their families.
